If there’s one
thing we know about the dads in our community, it’s that they show up at the starting line every time. Bring
your families, bring your friends, and bring your sneakers Dec. 2 to Hennessy Park for the very first CoolxDad
5K FunxRun. It doesn’t matter whether you walk, run, dance, or push a stroller across the finish line, this 5K
is about making memories, exemplifying for our children the importance of physical activity and mental
well-being, and supporting a good cause.
The FunxRun is open to anyone, not just dads. All the proceeds
go toward CoolxDad’s slate of impactful holiday programming. You in?
+ About the Run
- The CoolxDad FunxRun is a family-oriented 5K to raise money for CoolxDad’s slate of holiday programming. The first annual CoolxDad 5K FunxRun will take place Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hennessy Park in Houston, Texas. This run is open to anyone. We especially encourage families to show up together.
- The cost per runner is $35. We are also offering a one-mile family walk for $25.
- Proceeds from the run go toward CoolxDad’s winter programming, namely our slate of Color Box initiatives, including the holiday gift drive benefiting children from SEARCH homeless services, the From Us To You free holiday portrait session for families, Knight's Table dinners, supplies for the gift-wrapping session, transportation, and event & location costs.
- The CoolxDad 5K FunxRun also fits in our mission by highlighting the importance of physical and mental well-being and creating an opportunity for families to make memories and annual traditions together.
About Color Box:
Color Box is CoolxDad’s slate of signature holiday programming. It includes a free holiday portrait session for families and a gift drive that provides hand-wrapped toys, electronics, clothing, and other goodies to kids in Houston.Our longest-running program, Color Box has provided more than 1,600 gifts to 500 kids in Houston over three years. The program engages local businesses by allowing them to host donation drop-off boxes and culminates in a volunteer gift-wrapping event.
This year’s Color Box initiative will benefit SEARCH Homeless Services, which serves thousands of homeless individuals and families in Houston.
